Migraine

According to Mayo Clinic:

A migraine headache can cause intense throbbing or pulsing in one area of the head and is commonly accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine attacks can cause significant pain for hours to days and be so severe that all you can think about is finding a dark, quiet place to lie down.

Some migraines are preceded or accompanied by sensory warning symptoms (aura), such as flashes of light, blind spots or tingling in your arm or leg.

Medications can help reduce the frequency and severity of migraines. If treatment hasn’t worked for you in the past, talk to your doctor about trying a different migraine headache medication. The right medicines, combined with self-help remedies and lifestyle changes, may make a tremendous difference.

I have what I call monthly migraine and the occurrence  of  it changes every month.  I cannot remember anymore when my migraine started.  I remember an incident when I was in college that during travel I would feel pain in my head that would need for me to vomit and after I would sleep and viola – I would be ok!  But as I grew older and after experiencing two vehicular accident, I am still with migraine but now it is a monthly thing for me.  Before, after drinking dolfenal and sleep it over, I will be ok.  But for January and February  this year my migraine attacks lasted for a week.  There are days the pain would be on the right side and other days the pain will be on the left side.  There are instances that my migraine would attack before my monthly period, during my monthly period or after.  My migraine has its own mind – for she alone knows when and where to attack and what type of intensity the pain would be.  For there are also migraine attacks that are not connected with monthly periods.

I tried acupuncture three or four years ago and I would like to go back doing that ( money permits).  During my migraine I do not eat ( I do not have the energy) and I sleep a lot (I can sleep the whole day, so as not to feel the pain).  How I wish our doctors would find cure because really when my migraine attacks my world stops.  Therefor, my work is the one who suffers the most (buti na lang understanding ang boss ko dati).

Here are my “angels” when I have migraine.

water, bear brand, dolfenal & white flower - not in the picture is the ice/hot bag

I would really appreciate it if someone could give advise on what to do with my migraine.  :D
